About Alira Wellness Institute

Hi, I’m Megan Haden, NP — and I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a system that doesn’t prioritize patients.

Early in my career, I worked for a couple of different practices, and it was always the same: the focus was on how many patients we could see to make the practice more money, and we were constantly pushing medications without really helping patients feel better. I felt burnt out, frustrated, and like I wasn’t making the difference I had imagined when I became a nurse practitioner. I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when I decided to start my own practice. I dove into learning about hormones, functional medicine, weight loss, and other wellness services. I made all the common mistakes every new NP makes, but over time, I built a thriving, efficient, and profitable practice that truly helps patients feel their best.

Seven years later, my practice continues to grow every year. I now offer services including hormone therapy for men and women, weight loss programs, peptides, IV therapy, and functional medicine. I’ve seen firsthand how transforming patient care while building a successful business can completely change an NP’s career — and life.

I see so many nurse practitioners who want to escape the hamster wheel but don’t know how. I was frustrated with the lack of practical education available, so I created Alira Wellness Institute. Our mission is simple: to help NPs confidently start or grow a wellness practice and avoid the mistakes I made in the beginning.
